Hey friends! We haven’t done a fun review/giveaway in a while, so when Learning Resources gave me a shout, I figured you might like to check these out as well!
They sent me over their Primary Science Sensory Tubes and these are so much fun! I know so many teachers are always on the lookout for great science manipulatives because usually that is one of the first subjects that takes a backseat to Reading and Math. Using these, students are able to really use the Scientific Method to check some things out!
There are 4 very sturdy plastic tubes that come with solid lids, as well as vented lids too! You could even have students do a blindfolded smell survey when talking about the 5 senses!
For my tubes, I tossed some pipe cleaners in one and oil and food-colored water into another. Have the children grab their science journal and start writing observations down. This would also be great as a writing activity to get them to start thinking about adjectives and “more colorful” writing with details!
These were a ton of fun and I bet your students would think they are pretty cool too as a science center activity. Place a tube in each corner of the room and rotate through science stations. Include pine cones in one, leaves in another, a tube with water and glitter, and so on. Most children love science and this activity will give them even more time to play learn. 🙂
