It’s Faith again from Kindergarten Faith. I am so excited to be back blogging here with Charity and the Organized Classroom Blog. So this past month we have been working on telling time, and of course I try to make it real for my kiddos and connect what we are learning with something they can relate to.
What better way than to do it with something big in kindergarten – shoes!! Tying shoes ….. or not when we talk about more time and less time. :0) Who will be able to put their shoes on the quickest? Who will take more time? Who will take less time? Will they take the same amount of time??????
The kids get soooo excited when I tell them all to take off their shoes. Yes, be ready, it may get a little stinky!! Next we talk about more time, less time, and make our predictions. Then let the races begin. Oh yes, I make those kiddos with shoelaces (tie shoes as we call them in kindergarten) untie them. I get an even bigger sigh with that one – “Really … Mrs. Rucker!”
I live in a small rural area, so I can always count on a few of my kiddos to show up in their boots. Hopefully you have a few boot kiddos too!! Have fun with it, and remember, make it real for them.
See you next month!! Kindergarten Faith
