This is Mrs. Harris from Mrs. Harris Teaches and I’m excited to help you “look” at your classroom in a new way. Do you have a classroom window? You have a whiteboard in the making!
Your fellow teaching colleagues are gold mines. If you are stuck with what to do with your room, invite them in for ideas. Here is my reenactment. A teacher friend popped in my room just in time to hear me wonder aloud, “Where am I going to post homework?” “Why don’t your use your window as a whiteboard?” was her genius off the cuff reply. We both looked at each other in excitement.
Since the window I used is for an adjoining classroom, I put white paper behind the glass to help the writing show up more clearly. It turns out that dry erase markers erase better off my window whiteboard than my actual whiteboard! I don’t have any, but if you have glass paneled cabinets, these can be turned into whiteboards too! Related Questions: Has anyone tried the newer whiteboard crayons? Are they worth the splurge?
