  • Gives a simple way for small classroom groups to interact with  one another.  All are facing the same common direction.  Parters next to one another or facing partners can also quickly be used at the spur of the moment without rearranging desks.

  • Four teams are randomly set in the classroom.  Teams work together on projects and cooperative learning activities.  make sure to change the students in the groups periodically.

  • Triangular groups of three is nice for group discussions and projects.  This type of classroom desk arrangement would not be conducive to much lecturing as the students are all facing different directions and they may not get a full line of sight of the teacher.

  • Three groups of desks are arranged in a line with a small walkway between each.  Behaviors are broken apart by placing them with backs facing one another across the room.

  • This seating chart consists of a circle of students, with pairs around the outside.  It would be suitable for roundtable discussions.

  • A way to put the desks in a few different rows.  Each row is differentiating from two or three desks in each.  Gives a nice staggered look.
