Hey teaching friends! How many of you have students that LOVE to draw all over everything? I know, even as a child, I loved to doodle my name and little hearts and rainbows all over my papers. Now that I think about it, my teachers probably grimaced every time my work came in. lol!
Keeping with that idea, Barker Creek Publishing sent me a whole set of Draw Write Now books and if you haven’t seen them, you should check them out! While I can draw a mean heart or rainbow, students will be the first to tell you, I can’t draw much else. But this book is AWESOME and I can draw a few things now from the super easy directions. 🙂
And I LOVE how it includes writing, fun facts, open-ended questions, and an answer guide. It is perfect for cross-curriculum when you need to double up and include science, social studies, or math into your ELA time. Or use as a center where students have free choice to pick from the prompts. They will be begging you to do their work.
Check out the video below and see my mad drawing skills in action, as well as check out the books too!
