I was so excited to be contacted and asked to review a couple of the newest titles from Bob books! When I first started student teaching, I grabbed a bunch of the easy readers for my classroom library from (where else?) a Scholastic book order. So, I was super geeked to find out they had some new titles, and I love these even more! They will definitely be on my short list.
I have a little one at home and he was immediately drawn to the colorful covers. I love how they are simple, and the font in the book is cute, but still readable by small children.
They have four levels of readers, which are clearly listed on the back cover, as well as Grade Level Equivalents, Guided Reading Levels, Lexile Levels, and Word Count:
Level Pre 1: ABC’s and first words
Level 1: Sight words, words to sound out and simple sentences
Level 2: New vocabulary and longer sentences
Level 3: Reading for inspiration and information
Check out some more of the pictures from inside the book:
In the back of each, there are a set of flashcards for some of the vocabulary in the store. One side of the card is the word, while on the other side, there is a sentence with the word in bold, along with a picture showing the word in action from the characters in the book – that is a really nice addition for those who might be struggling with the words a little.
The even better news? They have decided to give away the same 2 titles to a lucky reader here at The Organized Classroom! Yay! Good luck to all who enter!
